Patrick Dreier

The "phenomenal" Cologne trumpeter Patrick Dreier with his "sensational flexibility and suppleness" (Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger) was born in 1964 in Appenweier, Baden. He studied trumpet in Freiburg with Professor Erden Bilgen and in Cologne with Professors Adam Bauer and Stanko Selak: at the University of Education in Freiburg, school music, majoring in trumpet, until 1987; at the Cologne University of Music in a double degree in higher education (diploma of the final artistic examination) and instrumental pedagogy (state-certified music teacher and independent music teacher) until 1993.

Dreier attended master classes with Anton Grcar, Maurice Andre, Stanko Arnold, Alfred Herseth and Arturo Sandoval. He himself also worked as a university lecturer in Freiburg.

Patrick Dreier is active in various areas of brass music: in classical and modern music, as a soloist and as an orchestra trumpeter in small and large ensembles. He has also made a name for himself as a specialist for baroque trumpet and classical trumpet on original instruments (historical performance practice) as well as for trumpet and organ, and has been setting church music accents as a Cologne cathedral wind player for over five years.

He has lived in Cologne for over 30 years and works as a freelance trumpeter throughout Europe. Concert tours have taken him to Japan and Russia.

Accordingly, Patrick Dreier can draw on extensive experience and diverse commitments. His participation at festivals such as Cahors, Bregenz or Düsseldorf is just as much in demand as a modern trumpeter at Starlight Express Bochum and Phantom of the Opera in Essen.

After the celebrated Threepenny Opera in the Kölner Schauspiel (Halle Kalk), Patrick Dreier appeared as a specialist for Kurt Weill in the Düsseldorf (The Threepenny Opera) and Bonn (The Threepenny Opera and Mahagonny) theaters, among others.

Patrick Dreier is currently a member of the New Rheinisches Kammerorchester Köln as well as the Orchester der Kölner Kammermusiker and has been active in Cologne Cathedral music for over 30 years.

He is also the conductor of the works orchestra of Kölner Verkehrsbetriebe AG (KVB) - the "house orchestra" of the city of Cologne (according to the former mayor of Cologne, Burger) and lecturer.

Numerous CD productions round off his lively artistic activity.

Bert Burgers

Bert was born in Rheydt in 1967 and received his first horn lessons at the age of eleven at the music school in Mönchengladbach.

He studied at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen with Wolfgang Wilhelmi and Hermann Baumann, with whom he passed the concert exam in 1996. In addition, his lessons with Stefan de Leval Jezierski, horn player with the Berlin Philharmonic, had a great influence on him.

From 1992 to 1998 Bert Bürgers was principal horn player in the Western Pomeranian Philharmonic Orchestra of the Hansa cities of Greifswald and Stralsund. Since 1998 he has held the same position with the Classical Philharmonic Orchestra in Bonn.

Andreas Deichmann

Andreas completed his studies at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf with Proffessor E. Treichel, was a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Foundation in Bayreuth and attended various master classes with Ben van Dijk, Stefan Ruf, German Brass, etc. and played in his up to that point in time mainly classical activities with the LJBO Rhineland-Palatinate, the Army Music Corps 300 in Koblenz, the Ludwigsburg Festival Orchestra, the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra, the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the "Neue Philharmonia Hungarica", as well as in countless concerts in the field of chamber music, or as a soloist.

Andreas' numerous commitments in the field of large-scale musical productions for Stage Entertainment and BB Promotion include Saturday Night Fever, Miami Nights, Elisabeth, Jeyll & Hyde, Starlight Express, The Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast, Dance of the Vampires, Lion King, Wicked, Hairspray.

In the field of light music, Andreas played in various big bands, including CCJO-Köln, POJP-Düsseldorf, etc., and was heard and seen in various TV and radio productions. Among other things, ZDF musical show star, always new songs, Mir losse d'r Dom in Kölle, SWR radio with the "Bäckerjunge Musikanten".

In 2006 Andreas began his studies in "Sound & Image Engineering" at the IMM in Düsseldorf. As a "sound engineer" he was responsible for various CD productions in the field of symphonic wind music, including the last two CDs of the Heeresmusikkorps 300 in Koblenz.

Peter Buescher

Trumpet / flugelhorn / piccolo trumpet. Even before his studies, Peter Büscher was able to gather a lot of experience in light and serious music. From 1985 to 1991 he studied classical trumpet at the music academies in Cologne and Aachen. From 1990 to 1991 he was under contract at the Stadttheater Aachen. In the years that followed he worked as a sought-after lead trumpeter and studio musician with artists such as Al Martino, Paul Kuhn, Johnny Logan, Howard Carpendale, Roberto Blanco and many others.

He took part in the following productions, among others: BEST OF MUSICAL TOUR 2010 and 2012, WICKED, DIRTY DANCING, I WAS NEVER IN NEW YORK, DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES, JESUS CHRIST SUPER STAR, PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, MIAMI NIGHTS, WEST SIDE STORY, HAIR , CABARET, MY FAIR LADY, KISS ME KATE, THREE PENNY OPERA, CHESS..........

In 1995 he was engaged as first trumpeter for the musical production "LES MISERABLES" in Duisburg. In 1999 he moved to Cologne as first trumpeter in the musical "SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER".

In 2002 he went to Bochum, where he worked until 2008 as first trumpeter in the musical "STARLIGHT EXPRESS".

During this time, Peter has been involved in numerous radio and television productions, as well as CD recordings.

Joseph Bartz

is a Wisconsin native. His first private studies were with David Sawall(Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey Orchestras). His other primary teachers were Dr. Charles Isaacson and Joseph Stegemann, Hans Gelhar, and Christoph Schwarz. Joe studied Tuba, German, and Composition at the Universy of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

After his studies in the US, he moved to Germany to continue his studies with Hans Gelhar, and earned his diploma from the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne in 2005. In October 2009 he completed his „Konzertexamen“ with Hans Gelhar.

While at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, he was awarded the prize "Outstanding Senior Composition Student" for his work during his time there. In Germany, he has recieved several commisions including a Duo for Bassoons „A Rainy Afternoon in Cologne“ (2003); „Cloud Burst“ a Viola Trio; and „Augen in der Großstadt“ for Viola trio and speaker. His concertino for tuba has been performed in Germany and in the US, as well as his „Song without Words“ for brass quintett.He has held temporary positions with the Gürzenich Orchestra in Cologne and the Symphony Orchestra in Düsseldorf. He has performed regularly with many of the orchestras in the Rhine/Ruhr area. In 2013 he released a solo CD „Impromptu“ which has recieved good reviews from the ITEA Journal, and many of his colleagues. Currently, the CD is available digitally through spotify, iTunes, Amazon, and other download services.


Joe also has performed regularly as a chamber musician with his quintets “Pentaphonic Brass” and “Die Sterne”, as well as with the MoerseHr Brass Festival, and has subbed with many of the other quintets in Rhine/Ruhr.

His other intrests include Bujinkan, laungages, and Bonsai trees.
